Purchasing high proof grain alcohol, one which is 190 proof, allowed for the same results as distilling your own.
Flavored homemade moonshine recipes consist of various fruits, as well as, a combination of fruit, herbs, and spices. Another amazing flavor to try is peach moonshine.

Homemade Apple Pie Moonshine Recipe
Home canned apple juice concentrate and home pressed apple cider are excellent options for this adult beverage.
Because of the high amounts of sugars called for in this recipe, 190 proof grain alcohol is required. If the alcohol proof is less than 190 the apple pie moonshine must be stored in the refrigerator until consumed. If not, the sugars will cause the beverage to mold.
Ingredients
- Organic Apple Juice, 1 gallon
- Apple Cider, 1 gallon
- Dark Brown Sugar, 1 1/2 cups
- Organic Granulated Sugar, 1 1/2 cups
- Cinnamon sticks, 13
- 190 Proof Everclear, or authentic moonshine, 1.75 liters
Equipment
- Large Stockpot
- Wooden Spoon
- 10 quart size glass Mason jars with lids and rings
- Jar Funnel
- Ladle
Instructions
- In a large stockpot combine apple juice, gallon apple cider, cinnamon sticks, and sugars. Bring to boil making sure to stir often.
- Allow apple mixture to completely cool to room temperature. Do not add Everclear grain alcohol until apple mixture has thoroughly cooled. Adding alcohol to warm liquid will dilute the proof of the alcohol.
- Once the apple mixture has cooled to room temperature, add Everclear, making sure to stir well.
- Ladle the homemade apple pie moonshine into quart size canning jars, adding a cinnamon stick to each jar.
- Add lids and rings, store jars in a cool dark location.
Notes
- Allow the moonshine to sit for a minimum of 2 months prior to consuming. This allows for the apple mixture and grain alcohol to infuse. However, the longer the adult beverage sits, the better it is!

- Add lids and rings, store jars in a cool dark location.
